Just for ease, since you're dealing with adding fractions, I always like to find a common denominator... This one would be 6.
2/6x + 12/6 = 1/6x + 33/6
Then add/subtract to get x's on one side and non x's on other side
Subtract 1/6 x from right side, leaves left side with 1/6x
1/6x + 12/6 = 33/6
Subtract 12/6 from left side and right side
1/6x = 21/6
Then multiply both sides by 6/1 (to get rid of fraction on the x)
x = 126/6
Simplify x = 21
1/3x + 2 = 1/6x + 11/2 <==Multiply thru with 6 (LCD)
2x+12 = x+33 <==x to one side, numbers to the other
2x-x = 33-12
x = 21
proof
21/3 + 2 = 21/6 + 11/2
9 = 54/6
