So I asked a question about a week ago about potential allergies my dog might have to the Chicken Formula on Wellness. He's always been on Cal Nat either the Lamb or Herring formula. After switching him to Wellness he started getting these weird dried scabs all over his back/sides. I figured it was the Chicken, so I switched him to the Lamb/Barley Wellness. I check him over everyday and I've been finding a couple here and there but just thinking they were residual from the original outbreak. However, just now I was looking him over and he's definitely got scabs that weren't there before, even just this morning.
Is it possible there might just be an ingredient that Wellness has in their food that Cal Nat doesn't that he is allergic to?
Looking at him you wouldn't know he's got these scabs, it's not Mangey, they're very small and it seems to be forming on his hair follicles. Would putting him on a home made diet for a few days to see how his skin fairs be a good solution? I of course will bring him to the vet if I need to, but I'd like to try more elimination before I do that.
Update:I looked at the ingredients and there are a ton more ingredients in Wellness than Cal Nat. I wonder if there are any limited ingredient foods that aren't sold by Natura. I don't want to support their company now that they're owned by Proctor and Gamble...eugh. However, I suppose if it means my dog isn't itching himself to death I will, just wish there were more options.

It's possible that it could be an ingredient in the Wellness, if he has scabs from two different formulas.
California Natural has a very simple ingredients list, so I would definitely try it out.
Yes, it is a big possibility. I am not the *dog food guru* on this site but I know I had skin issues with Wellness. I changed to EVO and there are no more issues.
I would suggest checking the ingredients side by side.
Dogs (like people) can be allergic to anything, so yes, its possible.
I have had good luck with my food allergic dog feeding Flint River Ranch Lamb and Millet.
I had one foster dog who developed diarrhea on Halo, and he seemed to be fine on Wellness.
You might just want to go back to the food you were feeding before.
