Car breaks problem? ?
I have a 04 kia rio and when I apply the breaks fast or hard the peddle gets real tight and comes back up and doesn't go down very far.and the stopping distance is horrible there fine if I drive slow and leave a big distance but in an emergency i'm afraid they won't stop in time.what could be wrong? Cheapest fix possible money is tight.thanks

It sounds like you may or may not have the power assist working. That would mean a vacuum leak or plugged line, bad booster. I would start checking the vacuum to the brake booster.
You could also have a "antilock" malfunction.
Change the break fluid or not enough break fluid
