write net ionic and ionic. Cobalt is below Sodium on the Activity Seriers of Metals. do I write the net ionic and just put N.R. for ionic, or do I put N.R. for both, please be specific.

It has nothing to do with the activity series, but it has everything to do with the solubility rules. Both of the potential products, CoCl2 and NaNO3, are soluble in water. Therefore, there is no reaction. No reaction, no equation, ionic or otherwise.
Co(NO3)2 + NaCl --> no reaction
I would have my students stop right there. Someone else might want you to write the same four ions on each side, but I wouldn't.
