Strange question but what happens to all the stuff people left on the ship? I know they would have been paid insurance and such but still must be full of it?
The cruise line has said, back right after the accident, that it would attempt to collect all personal belongings and return them to their rightful owner. That was in addition to the approximately $13K US offered each passenger along with a full refund of cruise and air fare. However, the belonging will likely not be retrieved until the ship is in a location where it can be scrapped so that things that cannot be recovered can be safely disposed of. Since the cruise line has the names and address of every passenger on the ship AND their cabin assignments it can retrieve things, especially from the cabin safes, and return them to their owners. Obviously some things, like clothing, electronics, and other things that would be useless after water damage will not be returned.
