Ya a car would be pretty nice in Idaho. Moscow, ID is not a very bit city. I am a U of Montana student in Missoula and that is about 100,000 people and I do believe Moscow is a little smaller. Since it is a U town it will have pretty decent public transportation. If you like biking, the nice parts of the year will be good for transport, but as soon as the bad weather hits you will probably need to make sure you have a close bus route or it will suck.
