Long haired cats may contribute to asthma, but there are lot's of other things in a home that can contribute too. Dust, change of season, chemicals, sprays etc

I get mild asthma in the colder months, I have cats and one long haired one. I am not completely sure if the hairy cat makes me worse or not - I get bad hayfever and i think it's just all related.

Not unless someone is allergic to them--they have products that can lessen the symptoms of allergies, if that's the case. There are also various products that make the animal less irritating to people with allergies (shampoos, etc.) You can get these at most major pet stores.

They could if you're allergic to them. They have stuff at the pet store for cats which will make you not have any allergic symptoms around the cat

if she is allergic to cats then dont get one if not then no nothing will happen.
