So i start my freshman year of college in like 2 weeks, and I'm signed up for honors chemistry (i need chem. whether regular or honors doesn't matter but i kinda need to start it the quarter if its possible) two days ago i found a description of the class (that i hadn't really read all that thoroughly to be honest) and realized that a) they really wanted you in the calc-geared-towards-engineers class, while i'm in the calc-geared-towards-bio-and-premed class. i had 2 years of high school calc so i don't think that's much of a problem (though it did say i need consent of instructor) but another prerequisite was that i needed to have had chem and physics in high school. i took chem, but not physics (i'm a bio major. i took more bio-related classes in high school...) so i kinda started freaking out and decided to email the professor about both problems. (maybe i should mention that i'm going to a UC...and it's REALLY hard to get classes that half of all the freshmen need. so if they decide i can't take chem honors it's really really unlikely that i'd be able to get into the regular chem class...because everyone needs it haha) anyways i emailed him tuesday around 6pm, and i still haven't gotten a response. before you start saying "oh its still summer maybe he's not checking his email" there was someone else who had a similar math problem (not the physics problem though) and emailed him around 7:15pm yesterday, and got a response within the hour! i really don't want to come across as annoying by emailing him again, but idk if my email went to spam or he doesn't know and has to ask someone...idk i've had a lot of scenarios going through my head. so...should i email him again? i kind of want to know what the deal is asap so if i need to wait list regular chem i can, and be more like #4 or 5 on the list as opposed to waiting till the last day of registration and end up like #25 or something...or be left with crap classes that i need to take to end up with the minimum amount of units...anyone have any advice???
Update:oh and i tried to wait list regular chemistry already, but right now there's a 19 unit cap on registration, including wait listed classes, and chem is a 5 unit class, so i'd end up with 20 units since i'm at 15 right now. so that's not really an option either

It is highly likely that due to the amount of emails that he receives, he may have just overlooked yours. Write him another email, clearly explaining the problem and make sure you put the name of the class and section number in the Subject Line. Oftentimes professors will create a special folder for these flagged items. He will see that folder has a new email and will be much more inclined to look at it, read it, and respond. Also, make sure you sign it with your full name and Student ID #. This will ensure that you are registered and he can more accurately respond to you. Good Luck!
It is concise, but not rudely short. If I were your professor I would be pleased to receive your email (well, maybe not pleased at having to give a make-up exam, but your note is well-written). Send it as is.
