Yes you can take it to a motocross track and ride it on the track.
You just want to take it easy on the bike, don't ride it like you would a race bike.
If you feel the bike bottoming out on the whoops, slow down. If you land from a jump and you know you are "cleaning the fenders", slow down and don't get so much air.
When landing off jumps try to land with both wheels at the same time, most guys land back wheel first - this is the proper way - but if you land with both wheels at the same time you actually save your suspension.
I have ridden a lot of trail bikes on actual motocross tracks, you just can't push them as hard or you will start breaking stuff.
You can track ride it, but its heavy, doeant have the hole shot power, and suppension will bottom out. My wife rider CRF 230 for trail riding. If you want to track go with EX: YZ, YZF, CR, CRF, RM, etc, etc. I ride YZ250f for trail and little track. I'm not a fan of tracks. I like CC and enduro courses.
I wouldn't recommend taking your CRF230 to the track but there are plenty of people on youtube jumping theirs. Search "crf230 at the track" on youtube.
