I bought some really nice raw, uncooked, unblended, undiluted, unfiltered natural honey - probably about 3 - 4 weeks ago. I used about half of it. Now the bottom looks like honeycombs are growing in it. Does that mean it's bad? How can I determine whether it is still ok to eat?

Honey does not expire. The high concentration of sugar is a natural antibacterial agent.
A friend of mine is a bee keeper, and they express their own honey. Honey is the only food that never goes bad. The fact that it crystallizes has more to do with what sugars were in the bees diet than with the honey itself. If your honey is getting crystals, just heat it up slowly by placing the jar in a small pot of warm water, By the time the water gets to a simmer, the honey will be thin & completely liquid again. It may crystallize again after it cools, so just reheat when ever you want liquid honey.
Spoiled Honey
It's just the sugar in the honey crystallizing. Microwave it for about thirty seconds with the lid off, or put it in a pan of slowly simmering water for a few minutes to re-melt the crystals.
Honey is the one food that will almost never go bad, because it is naturally anti-bacterial. Archeologists have unearthed honey thousands of years old that is still perfectly preserved and safe to eat.
It never goes bad. However, it does crystalize. So...you scoop some of it out and put it in a glass jar. Place the jar in a pan of cold water and boil it on the stove. It will turn back into a liquid and will last for a number of more months. Just take it one quart jar at a time and pretty soon, you will have fresh honey all over again. You can also microwave it, but be careful, since it can get very, very hot in the microwave. I have some scars on my arm to prove it!
Honey is the one edible...substance that never goes bad. It's starting to crystallize, which just means that it's hardening. Cane syrup does it as well.
The only honey that does NOT crystallize is Tupelo Honey, but that's hard to come by as it's only in one place.
Honey never goes bad ... ever.
It's the only food in the world that doesn't ... you could eat that bottle of honey a thousand years from now, and it would be perfectly fine and safe.
Honey doesn't really go bad, and if it does it will be way to long.
It just started to crystalize, it is still very safe to eat just microwave it ot break up the crystals with heat.

bacteria cannot grow at such high sugar levels, but mold can grow on top of the honey if you are not careful bottling it. It's the same as maple syrup. Sometimes mold grows on the surface of it. Some people get freaked but you can just remove it and you'll be fine. same with honey. good luck
I didn't think honey could go "bad". I think what is happening to yours is that it is turning to sugar. All you have to do is put the container in hot water and the sugar will melt back into liquid honey.
Honeycombs don't "grow" in honey, the bees that "produce" (we'll keep this simple) the honey build the honeycombs. People actually eat honeycombs.
Honey doesn't really "go bad," in most cases. It can seem to separate a little, but it is rare that it goes bad like you're worried about, unless it is left exposed to the environment, unsealed, although it generally stays just fine in most cases.
They have found honey in ancient egyptian pyramids that was still safe to consume.
You should be fine, but if you're afraid to trust your health to opinions of people on the internet, just go buy more and don't worry yourself. Enjoy your honey!
