to someone in the 99th percentile of the general US population? Is there anyone that can decifer that "mumbo-jumbo" for me? LOL So does that mean Smart 100+ IQ, or Very Smart 120+ or Genius 140+ ???
I always heard that 100 was just "average," 140 was very intelligent and 160 or over was "genius."
Technically, due to room for error in testing, I think they lump 80 to 120 as "average" with 80 being "low average" and 120 "high average."
Regardless, last I knew, MENSA just accepts the top 1 or 2% of the population and they were accepting those who test 140 or above.
Just remember, though, an IQ has nothing to do with common sense. I know a forensic scientist, IQ probably 160 or better, and he doesn't have the social skills of a ferret. At least ferrets are warm and fuzzy, know what I mean?

I think those figures you quote are about right. F&R above answer seems to confirm that.
I agree that many who are genius's are often great clods when it comes to social skills.
well...there can be estimations considering the scores are taken from the general population
