I would like to get a degree in botany, being a subject matter expert of the Venus Flytrap. I would like to know how to get into the career field. I would also like to hear from someone who does this for a living or something closely related. Thank you

It's a pretty narrow field of study but Wikipedia says that the action mechanism of Dionea muscipula is still little understood. You could probably do a research project in this if you're clever enough and willing to put in the work. There are not many people specialising in growing these plants commercially. To work in a nursery you'd probably have to move a long way, and there's only one location where you can study them in the wild. You might find that during your degree you find other things you're interested in.
I would suggest then that you move to a region where the Venus' flytrap grows naturally--that would be a little region near Wilmington, N.C. , the only spot on Earth that these little curiosities call home.
