I found a few traveler's checks in my mother's things (she is still living, just incapacitated) that were issued by Republic National Bank of Dallas which has since merged multiple times with other banks. The best I can follow, the current owner is now Bank of America. Any idea how I can get these cashed? A similar question was asked about this not too long ago, but with VISA checks.

As far as I know you can go to any place that cashes checks and retrieve the funds. You may have an issue if your name isnt on the account.
I know when I was travelling, I purchased a few travellers cheques before I left. I needed to provide the money in advance to purchasing them. When I was overseas and needed to cash them, I just gave them the cheque with my passport and was able to get the money.
If you dont feel comfortable trying to cash them at first, just contact your bank and go from there. I am sure a bank teller will be able to help you out in your investigation.
Hope that helped a bit.
Make sure they are still valid.. Don't travelers checks have a 2 year limit to cash them?
You can take them to your bank and cash them. It does not have to be the bank of purchase. Just make sure she signs them to you. The bank should be able to run them and if they come up good you got cash.
Probably tell your mom not to bother with em being so many places don't accept them anymore.
If the bank was ultimately taken into the Bank of America in a merger, it would appear they will or should give you an answer. Do you think we know ?
It should still be valid try calling Bank of America.
Just have your mother sign your name on the 2nd line. There is no time limit on them
