My kitten just turned 4 months old. He had TERRIBLE fleas when we got him and tapeworms which were both taken care of immediately. I've heard that kittens can get kidney failure and if they do their eyes will turn yellow.
I know he's still a kitten, and still growing, so his eyes will change a lot until he's full grown but I'm starting to see more yellow in his eyes than brown. When we got him they were a dark brown and they've slowly gotten lighter. They have a bluish color right around the pupil and then they are a yellowish-brown color. I've tried taking a picture but the lighting in my apartment is terrible and he hates the flash so he always closes his eyes. He is a grey and white striped tabby so the eye color is kind of throwing me off. His ears, nose, tongue, and pads of his feet are all perfectly fine.
So my question is: How do I tell if his eyes are going to be naturally yellow?

Well there's no brown eyes in cats so they're either going to Gold or Green. That's the only eye colour a cat his colour can have. The brown was probably just the muddy colour mix of his born with Blue eyes and his adult colour.
Liver problems can both cause the gums and skin to yellow. Never heard of kidney problems turning the eyes yellow. Take a picture of him in natural light by a window with the flash OFF. Then link to that photo somewhere online and we can tell you what we think.
Has this kitten been checked out by a vet? And why would you think he could have failing kidneys? Was he tested for Feline Leukemia? Hoping you've gotten him neutered?
I had a cat like that yet mine's eyes have been extra greenish, I named him Seth. initially it replaced into going to be "Sephiroth", after the villain from very final fantasy 7. yet i desperate Seth would be extra setting up for him. yet yea, he's long gone now, (no longer ineffective, i'm hoping), yet we had some great circumstances. i think of Seth would be a stable call for yours besides, in spite of the undeniable fact that this is as much as you of direction.
It's not the iris (the part that is colored in a normal eye) that turns yellow as a sign of kidney or liver failure.
It's the sclera (the "whites" of the eyes).
Unless your cat is wearing colored contact lenses, its eye color is its natural color. Although it's also true that kittens' eyes may change color as they grow up. We had kittens with greenish-blue eyes when they were newborns, but they are adult cats now, and they have more or less gold-colored eyes.
you cat is fine just like you said he is just a kitten and my tabby has it to its will go away as the get older.
