Open Photoshop and go to the upper left and it will show the different sizes and strokes that can be used right below the File and Edit in the menu bar.
The brushes that come with the program are from almost to smal to see to almost as large as 1/4 the page.
Some time you have to play around to find them if you are a new user and not familiar with the program.
So..let's star..first you download them somewhere ( desktop or whatever )
They usually are as .rar but if they are .abr no problem because if you open the .rar you will find the .abr ( That's the extention for the brushes..so..to load them..just check this out!

What Don M. said and to add or load brushes, go to "edit," then "preset manager." You should be able to figure it out from there.
