Rachel Carson did studies in how chemical pesticides affect animals. I know that plants and animals co exsist in thier enviroment in harmony. The complex relationship between all of these forms of life and resources is called an ecosystem.Take a sea star, for example. When it dies, its body breaks down and mixes together with other plant and animal matter on the ocean floor. This mixture becomes a rich soure of nutrients that provie food for other creatures. As you can see these forms of life are all conected together. If one link in the chain is damaged, other links are affected.
Chemical pestisides are absorbed into plants. Insects that eat these plants absorb the chemicals too.The chemicals are then passed on to birds when they eat those insects. It has been shown that DDT, a powerful pesticide, cuaeses the eggshells of some birds to become very thin. This has led to a decline in many bird populations.
I just typed all this by hand so i am very tired i can not say any more Sorry if it dont help! :{ PLZ vote as best answer
The same way they affect pests, but on a lesser scale because of relative body size. However, whereas pesticides will kill pests, some can have very harmful long-term effects on larger animals including humans because they enter the body and can be stored in fat cells, and thus accumulate over time to levels where they produce observable chronic illnesses.
Different pesticides work in different ways so you cannot give a simple answer as to the illnesses they cause, but some that have been observed are reproductive abnormalities due to endocrine disruption, and enzyme inhibition.
