Now, you're on your account page. What you want to do is go through each of the 4 sections by clicking Edit and delete all of your information.
After doing so (deleting), click Finished in each section before going to the next section and repeating the process. Remembering to click Finished as the last thing you do in each section.
That's going to bring you to the front page where you'll click"Finished" again. Restart your computer and you're all set.
This is so you won't be leaving any information behind for Yahoo. It's a known fact that they will continue to hold your Acct. info. long after you've closed your account.

If you made one a few years ago and have not used it in at least 4 months, it is probably gone. After 4 months, Yahoo closes unused email accounts.
