How do you turn off emoticons in yahoo mail?
It's driving me crazy! Every time I start an email with words like "sorry" or "thanks" in it, these stupid little emoticons pop up to substitute for the word, and the word DISAPPEARS!! Some of these emails are professional, and using emoticons in place of a word is really unprofessional..someone please help me!
Update:I've tried to click on plain text to disable the the email toolbar, but this hasn't worked

In your email toolbar the box that's on top of your composing box. By clicking rich text enables all your tools on that toolbar. And clicking plain text disables all those tools so that none of them will work that is what you want to do to turn your emoticons off.

Wow what in the world is causing this. It happens on the IM but email is manually inserted emoticons.
Try clicking the Plain Text link above the email to disable the email toolbar.
