I used to until I started studying the bible. I prayed to God for wisdom and I'm guessing he gave it to me. Over time I started to realize certain characteristics of the different books were in contrast to the idea behind sola scriptura.
Many protestant denominations believe sola scriptura sometimes to a fault. I think it amounts to idolatry. If the scripture was enough why did God send his holy spirit to us?
What do you think?

I'm Catholic and do believe in Sola Scriptura. The Bible itself says it's not the only source if Christ. So if you were truly Sola Scriptura you wouldn't be Sola Scriptura.
I think it's impossible to understand God completely. We can get an idea of Him from Scripture, but we cannot find all the answers in Scripture. To imagine that God stopped revealing Himself to humanity immediately after the last Bible verse was written does not seem very realistic to me. So we're to believe that God communicated with humans up until shortly after the death of Christ and then stopped? Why would a loving creator not continue revealing Himself to His creation?
Beyond that, there are things in Scripture which are inaccurate and don't make sense. To just ignore it and say it's all accurate, because someone told you that without even looking into it is silly.
If God wanted us to stop thinking and questioning and learning after the New Testament was written, why would He promise to send us an Advocate to guide us to wisdom and knowledge?
Finally, why do those who claim to hold true to "sola scriptura," who claim it's inerrant, the Word of God, and infallable fail to follow everything in there? There are so many examples of rules in there which are ignored or explained away. How can that be the correct thing to do if it's inerrant? At least we have the courage to admit that we don't follow every rule and notice contradictions.
I do. If it's more than Scripture, what is it? Man-made ideas. 2 Tim. 3:16, 17 says: "All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work."
God's holy spirit will NOT go contrary to God's written Word. It helps us understand what's already in the Bible.
because without the holly spirit we are unable to accept that there is a God,,a nd that the holly scripture is Hid word.
Acording to what i know from ortodox theology, the holly spirit is the one who works on our mind and personality from birth.so we are clever due to Him!we understand and accept the Bible as being true due to Him!
we are not gods..we need help..
Scripture is the dead letter until it finds its LIFE in you!
dont know just need points
