I'v been having this problem for over a year now with Sony Vegas, every time i need to edit something i have to convert it from mkv format to another and that takes too much time.
i have over 700 episodes to convert and each is 20 min.
Is there a codec or some software that would allow me to import mkv files on to vegas pro without the file losing its quality? No i am not talking about VLC player or other media players which is mostly the answer. Thanks :)

I think you better convert it what you say huh?
Hello, pal, you will have to be aware of, avi is a media container which will also be encoded with many one of a kind codecs, so sony vegas simply supports some unique avi videos, as i know, the fine format for sony vegas is mp4(avc video codec, aac audio codec) files, so that you have to use a correct program to convert your avi videos to the correct sony vegas mp4 movies. I am using a excellent application RZ Video Converter which will convert any movies or audios between special formats with just right best, such as convert avi videos to sony vegas mp4 movies, and so forth. Yahoo or google search and down load RZ Video Converter. Hope it could aid you.
