i am 6'3 i can easily touch,grab, and hang from the rim.. yes i can jump straight up and grab rim and also hang from it.. i am 16 and i weigh 185.. i started doing calf raises for like a week a couple months ago and it increased my vertical a lot because i couldnt stand straight up and touch rim before i started doing calf raise. but i now i can, im trying to dunk i am very close but for some reason i cant get ball in the net :( it always bounces out or flings into the air..

im fat and 5'10. I am not that far from rim and trust me Im not athletic. I worked for everything i am so far in the game. I went to the bottom step of stairs and have feet shoulder with apart. DOnt lock your knees but keep them slightl bent. Your toes and the part of your foot right on it where you jump should be the only part on the stair step. Now rise and hold that position till your legs almost crap out. I swear my legs would shake. Then take a break.. Do the same with legs far out. Break. than do it again but this time instead of holding it you will spring up(dont leave the ground) and slowly go back down.Imagine you are gonna jump off of two feet as hard as you can but dnt leave the ground. then you should have trouble going up the stairs. Dont forget to stretch properly before and after to prevent injury. Also for added weight what i did was take all my heavy textbooks and put it in my bag. This will trick your muscle into thinking your heavier than you are. If you two hundred and jump off with 400 pounds of force wouldnt you jump higher if you did the same thing opposed to having a 50 pound backpack pulling you down. Then I go have some protein and my calves are already stronger. My friends noticed it too. I went from slapping just mtip to the base of my finger the touching the part of the rim that allows it to bend when guys dunk. That was like 6 inches! for me in one day. And my legs where already my strongest asset.
