I have recently set up IIS7 on my Windows Vista Laptop.
But For Some Reason When I Go To Start The Default Website stored in the IIS Manager It Comes Up with an error saying that port 80 is in use.
When I went to check my ports I looked at port 80 and it said it is Listning.
I changed the port for the default web site to 81 it worked perfect but it is annoying to type in :81 after localhost everytime I want to view somthing.
I would love to know if somone could help me as for this is getting really annoying.
Thanks
- Jason
Update:When I go to localhost nothing comes up its just blank and says nothing

Apparently you already have a web server running on port 80.. perhaps it's malware and serving up web sites for spammers.
Try connecting to http://localhost/ and see what you get. Don't blame me if what you see if offensive -- it's on your computer.
If this is the case, then you need to get the malware removed pronto.
Run the following command from the command prompt "netstat -ao" the command will display listening ports and what you really need the pid of the process utilizing the port. Open up task manager and select "view" then "select columns", and check "PID". Now look for the process that is listening on port and possibly remove the program or change it's port and away you go.
you've got another program using port 80. I had the same issue with a winamp plugin i was using. The other work-around is to use DynDNS and forward a url to that port on your machine. You'll also have a name to work with too.
http://iis.kicks-***.org/ will point to http://10.143.34.11:81/ (or whatever your machine's IP is)I
