I'm 13 years old (14 in 9 days!), haven't persuaded my parents yet but:
I've got 2 dogs, 9yr old Chocolate Labrador female Molly, and a 5yr old Cocker SpanielxColliexLabrador male Henry. I'm so close to Henry, he's very energetic but within minutes he can be asleep on my lap and I love him to bits! I'm quite close to Molly too, but I kind of 'own' Henry, I chose him!
I look at dogs all the time, and I feel like I want to get another one, but I don't want my other dogs to hate me for it? I don't want to lose Henry's trust in me as I'll need to look after the new puppy a lot of the time. I'd really like to get a small dog like a chihuahua or something, but we've got a 1 year old cat Missy to bear in mind too?
So whats your opinions?

I think at 14 years old you should be content with pets that you have at the moment.
You have many years ahead of you to get another dog and unless your parents are 100% in favour of another pet in the house it could cause problems all round.
Who would be looking after all these pets when you are at school? Jmo.
The advice that I have always been given by my vets office and by rescues that I adopt from is that you should give your current animals just as much attention as you give the new addition.
The person who said "dogs don't have emotions" is totally wrong. They may not be able to express them in the same ways as us but they do have them. I have seen a dog cry in pain, whine and not want to do anything when webern there owner goes away for a few days, I have also seen an older dog actually get depressed, cry and not eat when there partner (another pup) passes away....if those aren't emotions then idk what is!
Back to the topic...lol...IF you decide to get a new pup then make sure you don't forget to include your current pups and give them just as much attention as the new one. A dog can get depressed.
Also, if you take good care of your animals then number shouldn't be an issue. My boyfriend and I have 6 pups and they all get along great.
we've 3 canines. One is 13 yrs, one is 9 yrs, and one is a million a million/2 yrs old. We even have 2 babies, a protracted time 4 and 6. Our older canines have been already right here whilst the babies got here alongside and properly previous their puppy ranges. We never had an argument with them and the babies at the same time and everybody adjusted suitable. we necessary a third canines, a puppy, that would advance up with our babies and have interaction with them extra as our older canines do no longer lots care to have interplay with our babies until foodstuff is in contact. yet we did no longer % truly youthful young babies and a sparkling puppy. So we waited until our youngest grew to become into 3 yrs old before bringing a sparkling puppy into the kinfolk. the babies have been the two potty experienced and slightly extra independant of mom and pa and that meant I had the right time to take a place interior the education of a sparkling puppy. We cope with only positive with young babies somewhat older and a sparkling canines. as a rely of actuality, we are bringing puppy selection 4 into our abode next spring or summer time. Our youthful canines and our new puppy are and could be our overall performance canines, as we are pursuing a style of canines correct events with them which comprise obedience, agility and herding. I say you may desire to do what feels perfect for you. only bear in mind that in case you're making plans babies interior the close to destiny, a youthful canines, even at 3 yrs old, can nevertheless be a handful. If I have been on your place, i might evaluate suspending the hot addition until when you have babies and that they are at an age the place you have perfect time to determine to a sparkling puppy.
Dogs can form packs larger than 3, so the number is not the issue, but the stress on the others, you, your parents, food and vet budget, etc. are more of the issues here.
Watch The Dog Whisperer. As long as one human is the pack leader, you can have multiple dogs, as long as you can afford proper vet care. All dogs should be spayed or neutered.
It might be a little much, I feel that you need to give each dog indivisual time and attention, and having 3 might be a little hard. Your dogs wont hate you, the only problem is that they might hate the newbie.
I think you can do it, my only worry is if you get a small dog the lab wont be too gentle and the cat might stalk him.
opinion-You can do it fine, just not too small, maybe a bigger siz like a beagle.
good luck convincing your parents
I was always worried that my chihuahua was gonna be jealous if we got another dog but I was soo wrong!!! It was the best thing for her! Now she has 3 other little chihuahua friends and they love eachother so much! And all the dogs and cats get along!
Dogs are not capable of the emotion hate . So no , they wont hate you .
I have three dogs , they all get along great . If your dogs are well socialised then with the correct training and supervision there should be no problem introducing another dog in to the mix
Provided you can care for them and look after their health, no, 3 is not too many.
I have 3 cats and a yellow lab pup on the way.
Just be sure to spread the attention evenly between them.
I have 3 dogs and 2 cats it all depends of whether or to your repaired to look after them, it can be hard work and expensive,
It better for them more animals the more company they have when ur not there it fine
