lizards are great pets depending on what type you get. I have a bearded dragon and hes great. Bearded dragons are really friendly and don't bite or get vicious, but after handling them you have to wash your hand. But a lizard is a good pet. Also they eat crickets but as they get older mainly veg and fruit. Bearded dragons live to about 8-10 years. Geckos are also good pets.
You should buy a small green iguana. They live more that 10 years, eat fruit and vegetables, are quiet, behave well, safe, you can hold it, grow to be about a meter and a half (including the tail). But if you get an iguana get a small one that way you can see it grow and make it used to getting touched. The problem with all lizards is that they need to be in a warm environment.
well it depends the lizard. i have a leopard gecko and hes harmless, they live up to 14 years and eat crickets. so if the teacher isnt afraid to handle crickets, its a great pet
i found some sites that said they live for 6-10 years, and others said they can live up to 25 years. try going to google and typing in "gecko facts for kids" they are really amazing animals, and are pretty nice most the time lol
