Looking in the mirror is more accurate, since camera can only capture 2D image. Thats why most of the time a person in a pic looks slightly different in real life. Where as a mirror is an exact reflection of you. Thats why some people who takes good pic aren't that good looking in real life and vice versa. No wonder theres a term for that "photogenic".
My experience :
You know what , I look like the hottest guy in the town in the mirrors. But when I see my camera taken pic, I am like the ugliest guy in the whole world.
Same happens with my friends. Camera gives a lil big image than actual object. Also, it gives a 2D image.
So, mirrors are more accurate.

What you see when you look in the mirror is not what other people see when they look at you. The mirror image is laterally inverted (raise your left hand, say ; the image in the mirror raises its "right" hand. So in that sense, the mirror does not give a true representation of what other people see when they look at you.
If you think that you look better when using the flip icon, that is because you are laterally inverting the image to match what YOU see when looking in the mirror. It is nothing to do with the resolution of the webcam. And just as you are used to seeing your mirror image and think that looks OK, so other people are used to seeing your real appearance, and that looks OK to them. You would look funny to them if you "laterally inverted" yourself.
A webcam's CMOS image matrix does not come close to the visual resolution of your retinas, therefore no wonder you look horrible in a webcam and 'accurate' as you put it, in a mirror.
Mirrors are more accurate because it see the light being reflected.
Cameras are not as accurate because you see the light that is reflected by the lens.
It is like the more you take a picture, the lower quality it will get.
