I am considering majoring in economics? I really want to go to law school however, if that doesn't work out I will still like to know if I can get a job
It can be a great major. A bachelors in economics is a business major, not a social sciences major. It is one of the few majors that is up there with engineering majors for employability.
My daughter got her BA in economics, moved onto an MSc in Technology Management and gets her PhD in civil engineering in 2014. Employers are asking her to name her starting salary.
For law school, accounting maybe a better major as you can become a tax lawyer and those people make tons of money.
No, it's one of the worst majors you can have unless you go to a top school. But then any major from a top school is good. Go into finance instead, which trains you to do work that banks and institutions need people to do. Econ at the undergrad level is a social science so you're preoccupied with learning the historical and sociological aspects of the field than how to actually do anything in the real world.
