My doctor prescribed me the estraderm patch, and I was reading the information paper, and it said it's for menapause not birthcontrol. WTF. Im only 17, way to early to go through menapause.
Well, I don't personally know your situation. But there is a transdermal patch that releases hormones called Estrogen directly to your bloodstream. Estraderm is recommended for use for women who may have menopause. However, it seems to cancel each other out because when you reach menopause as you get older you Estrogen levels lower which may cause osteoporosis. In that being said, contraceptives are also used secondarily for hormone purposes, not just only for birth control. Here's an example, when I was 13 I had heavy periods and terrible acne. My "then" doctor prescribed me with birth control pills solely for regulating my hormone levels, thus having regular periods and clearer skin-and I wasn't even sexually active at the time. I hope you have a better idea, but once again, I don't know your situation. I hope you get what you're looking for!
