Are you talking about the movie? If so, it was pretty scary when it came out in the 1960s . With all the horror movies out now, it seems pretty mild in comparison. However, if you view it in a dark room and you are home alone, watch out! 8 or 9
It's a "smart" scary, for lack of a better term. It can seem slow paced at times and it pays attention to the use of certain angles and shots to portray scaryness. But I agree with the above, it's very mild compared to todays movies.
It's not that scary. just weird. Psycho 2 is much scarier (and it's in color). I wouldn't really bother with Psycho if i was you cuz there's a lot more scary movies out there that are better.
