Hi everyone,
I have a chevrolet lacetti (2006), and I have just taken out the Blaupunkt head unit that came with it.
I want to retain use of the steering wheel controls, and the harness that came with the new (sony) unit I purchased will not allow this.
The original harness in the car has a standard Iso connector (male).
Does anyone know where I can get a harness that would allow me to connect from one Iso connector to another Iso connector and still be able to use the steering wheel controls?
I have searched the net, and bought a harness, which the website I bought it off claimed would fit my car, however the connectors that came with it will not fit the standard Iso unit in my car (note that the harness I bought was actually for a different model, but they put on the website that it is compatible with my model).
So basically, I need and Iso to Iso harness that has the branch off for the steering controls, which I can connect to the (useful bits of the) adapter I have just purchased.
Another alternative I was looking at was buying a female Iso connector (connect to bare wires) and then chopping off the connectors that came with the harness I bought, and matching the wires as closely as I can, but I really do not want to do this!!.
Hope this question makes sense, if not, let me know, and I will clarify.
Thanks

There are a thousand options out there. I would go to a respectable stereo shop and ask them about your options. In my truck, I chose a harness that works the steering wheel controls but removes all the annoying dingers about no seat belt or door is open. You can select one with whatever features since most funtions are now run through the radio.
