I know all the ACLS algorithms, I understand that the pre-cordial thump is not included anymore because it only produces about 25 joules. But it is one method with no access to a defibrillator.
Are there any other techniques or "trade secrets" in medicine that doctors know beyond on the record ACLS protocols?
If you understand physiology and homeostasis you can sometimes theorize your own potential procedures but are there procedures to "cheat death" that are technically accepted but maybe off the record but not in the books? For all patients in a medical crisis, of all circumstances (trauma, infection, literally everything that puts a patient close to death)
**I am not asking so I can perform them without a license as I am not YET an MD, simply asking to be intrigued, as I am on my way to becoming a trauma surgeon.

Does osteopathic medical school teach more of what I am looking for than an allopathic school?

This is a surprising question coming from a medical student(assuming that this is the case as you seem to imply). Assuming that the internet - and yahoo in particular - will be able to answer such questions in a valid way indicates a misdirected sense of qwhere valid info can be obtained. Would you consider asking the teachers/doctors surrounding you in medical school?
