The vet recently diagnosed my 6 year old dog with diabetes. Instead of getting his usual meal of regular dog food with leftovers, he could only eat the diabetic dog food. The vet later said we could feed him unseasoned, boiled chicken. He wouldn't eat (anything), and we found out he had a severe ear infection. Gave him medication for the infection, and gave him the canned food because of his difficulty eating. Later he became lethargic and the vet dismissed diabetes, so he said to give him his regular dog food, which he isn't eating, along with all canned foods, and only bits of leftovers. Throughout the ordeal, he has become weaker and more lethargic. He's stopped eating nearly all food, and he's lost major weight (visible curves in his skull and ribs) I've suspected that it could be a jaw/tooth problem, but he's not showing any sensitivity. I'm wondering if this is a serious condition, or if he's picky. He'll be at the vet tommorow, regardless.

a dog will not starve itself, it's a medical problem if your current vet still finds nothing wrong then take it to another vet asap
until then just comfort him and make him as comfortable as possible.
He may just have an upset stomach.... feed him boiled chicken and rice and/or boiled hamburger and rice - 50/50 proportions - if he doesn't eat either of those then he needs to see a better Vet. Diabetes should be able to be tested for, along with a myriad of other problems.
dogs are like human beings they sense the right thoughts as we do. my dogs those days had to bypass to and stay n a vet for a pair of nights and the vet instructed us that she became into depressed and we've been to stroll her whether she dosent prefer to and attempt to get her in contact in events we did and he or she got here lower back to her od herself you may attempt the comparable or merely wait till your dogs is all healthy and that i haven't any doubt that shehe would be lower back to herself very rapidly =)
It sounds like a major problem. I would find and all night vet clinic.
doesnt sound good. you should find a specialst and maybe mix the diabetic dog food with leftovers?
my dog would not eat anything and i took him to the vet too many times. finally we mixed his dog food with cat food and he eats it . not too much of it but he does eat some.
