So I have a 2009 Nissan armada ( gulf specs ) living in the UAE temps 120+ everyday. I'm the second owner of the armada and don't know much of what has been done before.
Anyway the a/c has been progressively blowing warmer air, sure time for a service. Service it and blowing ice cold again no problem. The technician said that the compressor is going bad? As the car sits in the sun after service ac running its blowing pretty cold, then he hits the gas revving up the engine and now it's blowing ICE cold air. It has an electric fan so revving doesn't make the fan spin any faster. Would anyone know any truth to this, or are they just looking to make some more money changing a compressor?
We do spend a lot of time at idle and need it cold at idle, ( the kids tend to fall asleep in their car seats so we just leave it running to let them have their naps)
I know when we get driving its coolig more but I just attributed that to the higher airflow through the condenser, not a week compressor?

of course any temp over 100 degrees will put a major strain on any ac system and temps over 110 degrees you will never be able to get ice cold.....
However, you want to check the condensor fan asm located behind the front bumper and make sure it is working and not damaged. as your idling or going slower then freeway speeds the condensor fan aids in cooling the condensor and thus making the ac system work better.

It is normal for a vehicle's A/C to blow colder while driving or revving. This is because the compressor is engine driven and it is running a bit slow at idle, not producing maximum cooling at that time. Optimum cooling needs at least 1500 to 2000 engine RPM. Idle is about half that speed. The movement of the vehicle helps as well, but it is mostly engine speed.
This is based on US vehicles. I don't know about Gulf vehicles.
Were you ever able to get it blowing cooler? Mine also doesn't blow very strong. Have you had that trouble?
