Personally, I can't stand milk. But as I turned 35, I'm realizing just how important it is. Ergh, I HATE milk! I think I'll have it in my iced lattes every day............!
I refused to drink milk as a child. I'm now 22 and haven't had it for so long, I don't even know what it tastes like anymore. I'm actually scared of the stuff! When I was younger and still lived with my parents, my little sister left a cup of milk next to my bed as she'd been watching my TV. When I saw it, I grabbed the cup and ran downstairs with it... a tiny bit splashed onto my hand and almost had a panic attack. Took me ages to calm down.
My son is 14 months old and still has formula. I've read so much about cows milk I have no intention of making him drink the stuff... if/when he does he will only have organic to avoid the antibiotics and other crap in it. I'm not an organic freak, but when it comes to milk I am! His formula is organic... I prefer keeping him on that as he's a picky eater and cows milk is overrated. Once he's eating better, we're scrapping milk all together.
Actually, countries with high dairy intakes tend to also have higher rates of osteroporosis!
It's just not the right source of calcium for humans. It's for cows! You can actually get calcium from plenty of other sources, free from hormones and antibiotics and pus.
Hope that makes you feel better about being milk-free!
authentic? there is Christians and then no longer-Christians. the two you have self assurance in God and Jesus, or you do no longer. No Christian is from now on "authentic", purely possibly greater efficient at following Jesus' teachings. /rant anyhow, there is not any reason to think of it could be morally unacceptable. in actuality, cows are actually not made for human's to drink their milk, so this is secure to assume that soy milk seems greater interior of God's plan than cow's milk. yet heavily, drink what you prefer. Soy milk isn't evil. Or attempt almond milk.
I think I'd been lactose intolerant for alot longer than I wanted to admit to myself. I loved milk for years, but would get vicious tummy aches from it.
When I got pregnant, and got serious morning sickness, the mere smell of milk would make me vomit. I started to drink soy milk and have learned to love it.
I can chug-a-lug a container of chocolate soy milk in no time. I find it delicious. Regular soy milk I cant drink straight, but I use it in my cereal and smoothies all the time.
Every once in a while I crave milk, and I'll have drink a bit of my daughters 2%. I always regret it after and pay the price with a tummy ache.
I can't stand chocolate milk! Although I can drink chocolate soy milk oddly enough.
I don't like any variety of milk that is unflavoured, I usually put a goodly dollop of strawberry syrup in mine, unless I have a bottle of Love Potion (that's an Aussie cordial- it's rose and lime flavour) in which case I add that- it's yummy!
My husband doesn't drink it because he has a cholesterol problem, our daughter is lactose intolerant and would become violently ill, and I think milk is disgusting.
There are many, many ways to get calcium without ingesting any form of dairy products. We use a lot of calcium enriched foods, such as almond milk (my daughter), soy milk (my husband) and soy yogurt (me). We all drink calcium enriched orange juice.
I love to drink milk with Ovaltine in it. But, I don't drink it too much because Landon goes through milk so fast and I don't want to run out because I'm drinking more than he is...lol.
I would prefer a glass of ice cold milk over a glass of orange/apple juice any day! :-) I used to get in trouble as a kid drinking it so much.. It didn't last long in our house!

I love milk ! I drink 1/2 a liter of 1% daily :) I prefer it over pop or juice, any day.
But chocolate milk is something that just turns my stomach, I can't drink any more than a mouthful, and I'm ready to keel over !
