Norton shut down my computer while Photoshop was open and now I'm getting the above quoted message. Yet nothing appears to be wrong with the Photoshop document.
-Yes the PSD extension is correct I know how to check.
-No the file does not have any recovery points as I've checked right click properties.
-I was and still am using Adobe Photoshop CS6.
-I don't want to waste too much time, I've tried different things as forums suggested, but I have not altered the original document because I have faith in it opening correctly.
file Size: 9.19 MB
Atualizada:In fact I just noticed that saved .jpg files in that same folder are missing, like the saved JPEG flatted version I can not find at all of this PSD that will not open in Photoshop. I think that everything I've saved to my external hardrive last night has gone missing. I believe this random reset/restore has occurred before with my hardrive files. (Brand: OneTouch 4) Please help me out or direct me to proper research/solution/answers.

Sounds as if the header of that PSD has been corrupted. No worries:-
1. Open up a new PSD with the exact same dimensions as the one you're having problems with;
2. Go to File>Import and copy the old (busted) PSD into the new header you've just created;
3. You should find that all layers, layer styles etc are now in this new document;
4. Save it out under the same name as the old file, so that it overwrites the busted header.
You should find this gets you access back to the file. If not, then the file has been corrupted further down the stack from the header. I've personally used this trick a number of times when trying to get access back into files corrupted in the same way.
Oh, and by the way, do yourself a BIG favour and dump Norton. In 30yrs+ in the industry, I've never seen software like it for trying to take control of everything you do on the system. There are plenty of alternatives out there which don't carry the same baggage.....
Hope This of Help

Norton should NOT shut down your computer. Something crashed, and corrupted your file, perhaps. Maybe there is a backup to it.
Maybe Gimp can open it up.
Maybe...you'll have to start over.
maximum invalid document comes from the renaming of the document's extension. whether that is purely my wager. now and returned in case you modify a document's extension you will get this mistake. Or the document is corrupted (in all probability failure in saving)
