This question is merely theoretical for now, but may affect me in the future. The high school I go to now has really flimsy dress code rules that no one follows. I have two facial piercings and my hair is dyed a few colors, the most prominent being my pink bangs, and no one has ever given me trouble about it.
My family may be moving for next school year. Let's say the school I would potentially go to says no dyed hair. Well my hair is already dyed and it's far too late to change that. Even when the dye fades it will still be bleached blonde for wayyyyy longer. What do you think the school would try to do in this case?
Update:Oh, and what about tattoos you already have? I don't have one at the moment, but they can't make you get it removed or anything.

Well i'm gonna be talking from my personal experience .. i myself went to art school where you could do whatever you wanted with your hair.
many of my friends went a "religious" school where they took the dress code pretty seriously.
what they do usually is tell you outright to dress conform to regulations. (like no shorts for guys.. regardless how hot it is outside they cannot wear shorts, same thing goes for girls with skirts nothing above the knee)
no piercings hat so ever, cover up any tattoos (they can't ask you to remove it, although they'd like to if its not visible then its ok.. they will ask you to wear clothes that will hide it tough) , girls can have earrings but that's it ( and no flesh tunnels, or several earrings in your ear)
As of hair boys are immediately asked to cut their hair short.
girls usually are asked nicely to cut their hair to a "normal" style, to "wash the paint out" if possible; tie their hair back to a ponytail, re paint it to a more natural color.
they are usually more lenient with girls on hair style.. but not as far as most would hope.
there's this goth girl who was asked to remove her accessories, and paint her highlights back to her natural color..and get rid of her makeup XD there was a big scandal about it; soon after it died off cause they threatened her with suspension.
our schools were pretty close to each other and you could clearly tell the difference.. the teachers from the religious school always looked at us like we were hooligans.. even tough i and most of my friends didn't really dress that much different from their students.
i went to visit in their school , along the way 1 teacher told me to take my hat off and the principal stopped me and took my hat.when i took it back he started yelling that he'll suspend me.. i was like " go ahead O_o i'm not from this school" aaand they threw me out xD bunch of bigoted weirdos if you ask me..
They will make you die it back to a natural colour and take your piercings out. :(
Private schools are no fun.
If anyone told me to get rid of my platinum blonde hair with pink dip dye I would probably bash them.
I don't have any facial piercings, but I would also whoever would tell me to take my belly bar out.
I would TORTURE anyone who told me to take off my makeup.
They would expect you to dy your hair a natural colour.
My school had a very strict dress code.
