This TP-Link router is only a few years old, and for someone who has encountered a lot of router problems I've never seen a problem like this before. I can't access the setup page of the router (at "192.168.1.1") nor the router via WLAN -- though the LAN cables' corresponding lights blink so there still seems to be some communication via LAN but no access to the Internet/modem/WAN and probably to other PC's connected via LAN. What caught my attention the most was the "SYS" light, which was off the entire time. This might have something to do with what's wrong. I'm planning to reset it and run the setup from the pre-included CD, but any other ideas? :|

There should be a pinhole someplace on the back or bottom. Press and hold it for about 30-50 seconds while the power is OFF and the power plug is UNPLUGGED.
This will hard-reset almost any router back to factory image (it is more than just a reset of settings, it reflashes the rom back to its factory state)
Then plug in the router like normal and power up. If you are plugged directly into the router from your pc with an ethernet cable, then you should be pretty much good to go without anything more. If your need wireless, do the setup on the disk
(usually i hate recommending using the disk, but now-a-days they have made things pretty simple more most folk to setup secured wireless this way... anyway to get more people to secure their home wifi is a benifit in my book).
