I was in a minor traffic accident the other day (paint scratches and a minor dent; my fault). A police officer was nearby and took the details for a report. For various reasons, he didnt discover that my CA drivers license had expired. I was also driving my mom's car (with her permission). My husband and I have an insurance policy on our car, on which I was listed as a "named insured" - but only my husband is listed as an insured driver. I dont know exactly what the difference entails.
The next day I renewed my license and listed myself as a driver on our ins policy. Of course I know this isnt going to help my situ! My questions are - whose ins will cover any damage claim - mine or my mom's? what penalties am I likely to face due to my unlicensed status, either thru my ins co or the PD? We live in CA.
