False, yes religon has been used to justify several atrocities in the past, however it was used as a justification, lets be honest if you are that ****** up you would have found some other means of trying to justify the same atrocities. Conversely, religion in one form or another has given hope to millions if not billions of people through out history, given people the strength and courage to go on, in the face of overwhelming adversity. Whether you believe in God, many deities or no deities whatsoever is your choice, however you cannot deny the hope such beliefs inspire in people all over the world.
Change your username, you should really get your self confidence up. It's hard to say on your question. Religion has done a lot of good through charities and such, but bad through persecution and holy wars. Though I am religious, I think I'm leaning towards true, in that there would be no religion, just a God that everyone just knew about, and everyone sort of knew the same ideas about him. So not really a religion as it wouldn't be so divided.
The fact that Josef Stalin, an Atheist, was responsible for the largest mass killings in history (beating even Hitler), says that your statement here is false.
That is not to say that most religions have not been used to justify all kinds of injustices (including genocides, among which I just named one--Hitler, who was a Christian), but the idea that if there were no religion that humans would somehow not be violent is just not true.
