a friend of mine showed up with a turtle as a gift, i don't know what to do, i don't like them, nor do i know how to take care of one , and a just don't like touching it.... please don't get mean, i never planned on buying one for myself and i never expected someone giving me a live animal as a gift, even if i do have a dog and fish, that doesn't mean i want more animals.
should i just tell my friend to take it back? how can i do so without being impolite?
or i have a friend who already has two big turtles in this amazing habitat she built for them and she offered to take mine. but then what explanation do a give when the gift giver comes over ?
or should i suck it up and care for it
what do you think is the best option

don't take a pet you don't want. your friend should be smarter than that. i hate when people give pets as a gift. that is a huge commitment and responsibility. and turtles live a very long time. and the supplies they need are expensive. plan to spend close to $200 for what it needs. you should just politely tell the friend that you don't want the turtle and ask if he/she wants to return it want it themselves or should give it to this turtle friend of yours. they should understand completely.
if your friend offered to take it and has a good habitat you should give it to them. what you should say when the person that gave you the turtle comes over say you gave it to a friend that could give it a good home.
same here except i took the animals(frogs)
i was fishing and i saw alot of frogs on branches sleeping so i decided to catch them. i have had them for about 5 months and i stiil dont know what type of frog they are and how to take care of them but i give them the basics of what i think they need ....
if i were u i would just dp spme research on some turtle basics....
i know ull need: UVB source... FLOATING DOCK.... WATER..
