My car makes a word noise when I accelerate quickly from a complete stop. If i accelerate slowly it doesn't make the sound it just vibrates but its barley noticeable. It doesn't make a noise when I accelerate when: the car is already moving, at higher speeds, when I'm slowing down, coming to a stop. I know its hard to identify without actually taking a look at the car but any idea to what it might be? My dad said it might be a boot or something like that? And that is why I would never buy a CVT.
What that sounds like is the "belt" slipping. Snowmachines use a similar transmission. They have been using it for decades. The problem is, you need to replace the belt every year or more, otherwise the belt slips.
I would take it to a Honda dealer and have them inspect it. That is not normal.
