You bring a pot of water to the boil and add the pasta and bring it back to the boil, and then reduce the heat so that it is bubbling and moving the pasta about.
Use the Microwave timer and leave them for 6 minutes.
Hook a piece out and taste test it for softness that you like.
When it as you like turn of the element and drain the pasta through a sieve and shake it about to drip, and then return to the pot and put the pot back on the element.
You will hear it steaming a little so wriggle it around.
Serve it out onto plates or a platter and serve what ever over the top.
There is no need to know that the boiling point of water is 100C (200F)
Boiling water stays the same. 212 degrees. the temp cannot go above that point. If you increase the fire, you simply increase the bubbling rate. You can add salt, and it raises the boiling temperature.
A good indicator is when it is softened up, take it out with a spoon, blow on it till it is cool enough and taste/chew on it to check the tenderness. If it still feels a little 'gritty' then boil for about 5 more mins and it should do it.
another test, but more or less people joke about this (mainly with spaghetti) is to take a strand and toss it againsed a wall. If it sticks fairly well, it is ready, though it might get you in trouble with parents or others around you. I know my wife gets mad at me when I do it, even in a joking manner.
put the stove on as high as it goes and put water in a pot on the stove. Wait until the water starts to boil then add your dry pasta and turn the heat down to medium high and cook it for around 7 min or so depending what kind of pasta it is.
