Umm the last guy is that not smart. What is a long island ice tea then? people drink that all the time and are find. lol anyways cant say ive personally tried that one but it sounds promising. Try it and let me know how it is. just make the drink a little weaker (i.o.w. more lemonade or maybe try coke both those go well with really any cola) if your worried about yacking it up then and there
I don't know see who Hack is referring to, but he should know that an LIT does not have whiskey in it. As an accomplished mixologist, I can tell you that unless your mixture is highly diluted, as Hack suggests, it will be terrible. Rum is distilled from sugar cane, whiskey from grains such as rye or corn. You can imagine the clash in flavors there. It won't make sick, though it may induce a gag reflex. Instead, get some club soda and serve that with your whiskey and the rum with lemonade, or make Lynchburg lemonade with whiskey and lemonade, and serve your guests that and rum mixed with pineapple juice.
When sipping, take about half a teaspoon worth of the spirit into your mouth, then let it sit there for 10 seconds. Your saliva will mix with the spirit and then make it easier on your throat to swallow. Remember, to nose the spirit as well (simply smelling it, works best in a tulip shaped wine glass). Also, and im talking in terms of single malt whisky (what I enjoy the most), take your time with it. It wouldnt be weird to take 30mins to an hour to finish a single measure of spirit (30ml).
