also being an atheists doesn't mean that you have to believe that the world is 4.6 billion years old or evolution ever happened. atheism has no dogma like religion does.a rule which says you have to believe this or that to be an atheist, atheism is simply the lack of belief in a god.

Also the earth is billions of years old, but life is probably only 10,000 or less, carbon dating only goes back that far (carbon traces are too small after approx. 20,000 years (half-life is about 5,000 years) and we only have plants up to that point, lead uranium dating cannot be used accurately for older fossils of people. they just happened to eroded differently.
