Calicos are cats with more than 2 colors, not 3. Calico males have XXY chromosomes and are usually sterile and extremely rare. Since calico is really a color, it could be the breed of cats that you have. All Asian breeds (Siamese, Burmese, Bombay, Persian, etc.) are known talkers.
I've never heard that before. In fact, I have 4 cats, 3 of which are calicos and to tell you the truth, the one that meows the most is the one that is not a calico. I barely ever hear 2 of my calicos meow. The third only meows when she hears the treat jar, but my pure white cat meows ALL the time.
We have two calicos. One talks a lot. The other does not. My calico from years ago did not talk much either. It's just a variation among cats. I have had other shorthairs that never shut up.
I don't belive it's all calico cats, because I know three very quiet calico cats. Ok, one is moderatly quiet. However, I have noticed calicos to be quite friendly and outgoing.
Its not the fact that she's a calico. Its just her personality. I have an orange cat who loooooves to talk. Really, the only breed known for their talking are Siamese.
Some cats are just talkative and looking for attention. Try giving her a little extra attention and see if that helps with the meowing. Treats and toys may certainly help with that as well
My calico cat NEVER meows.
My calico never meows I tought she couldn't make sounds the first 6months i had her
I have two calico cats and they also meow a lot. Maybe its because theyre more needy or crave more attention than other cats. Idk, maybe its because their breeds are so mixed, this is the results you get.
Hi, just a long shot...Is she more vocal when she has just fed? I noticed my UK SH used to really wail after feeding...a thing she did when she had kittens around. It could be a Maternal thing...feeling all 'alpha female' over her sister? ...just a thought it may not have anything to do with colour? Hope this helps...
