They always depict white men is selfish buffoons, while often overpowering women. They also seem to be biased in favour of the "nuclear family" values even as they bust them. They also know nothing about any religion that isn't Christianity, know nothing about video games, and in general seem to be stuck 20 years before they were written. For God's sake, who's the target audience, middle-aged idiots?

Pretty much every modern sitcom sucks, can't think of any good ones either, so possible every sitcom now sucks. The last good family sitcom I can really think of is Roseanne, and they pretty much fudged it up by making the character rich by winning the lottery. Everything pretty much before that was pretty golden. I mean they were poor, but not necessarily tasteless, the family could go through hard times, the kids would do stupid **** that piss off the parents, etc. Didn't care for how they handled drug usage, they made it out to be the most evil thing ever. Aside from that it was pretty good for what it was. Also liked Married with Children for similar reasons, though it focused more on the comedy, I still think the Bundies are more realistic then any modern sitcom families.
A sitcom about a guy who is a wonderful, caring individual would be a drama, not a sitcom. A woman who is weak and/or shy would be a Lifetime movie, not a sitcom. We find humor in people who are way out there, not in the average person. The audience is people who want to escape reality and laugh. Every show does not have to have redeeming social value. That would make for boring television. And if you are ok with nothing but Christian television, tune into Christian stations but don't call those of us who just want to escape for an hour or two a day idiots. We are just maybe different from you.
