I drive a '99 olds alero and when it rains outside or water gets kicked up underneath the car my belt squeaks. I've looked at the belt and can see no cracks, so my belt isn't in bad condition or anything. Whenever I accelerate the noise stops. This only happens when it is wet outside. Does anyone have a clue what this is and how can i fix it?

Has the belt ever been changed? Even though it looks in good cond. after a period of time the belt will stretch and the water is getting in between the belt and pulleys making it squeak.
i had that same problem with my fan belts but i had it fixed about 20 times it stops for a week and then it starts again and it doesnt look cracked but i still dont no what is wrong
sounds like the inner splash panels(usually plastic) have been pulled away or possibly been removed. Look all around the front tires and see if you see engine parts, should only see black. Hope this helps.
It sounds like it's just loose and needs to be tight... slipping. But get a mechanic to check it out... not a big job.
get belt dressing at pts store...Tighten the belt...if its glazed or cracked replace it.
YEA, GET THE BELT TIGHTENED BY A PRO...SHOULD COST 20 $ AT THE MOST
