my aol contract ends in two months, i've heard that its hard to separate from them, or is this only if you want to separate within your 12 month contract? will i have a problem? why do they only use half of the available screen space? when i connect, it takes ages, then fails, when it does it disconnects itself. its slow, the icons are MASSIVE, customer service is poor, i wish i went with someone else. what are your experiences?

AOL was my first internet service provider. They used to hammer free trials down our throats here in the u.k and entice you with a second month if you called to cancel.
They are somewhat controlling, for many years you could not just dialup or connect via dsl by setting up an internet connection in your computer and setting up the browser, and it was well known for being a pain in the neck. I doubt all that much has changed now.
