The short answer is unlikely.
Win7 is registered for one computer at a time only based on the hardware. If too much hardware changes at a time it may need to be re-registered with Microsoft. And it probably does not have proper drivers for other hardware, so even if you booted the existing drive (or cloned it to a different drive) on the other computer, it might not even run. OEM versions are sometimes tied to a specific manufacturer and even if you had install discs might not install on a different brand of hardware.
Personally I mostly run Linux at home (64-bit Ubuntu 14.04, which is free). It boots much quicker than Windows (less bloated) and is much safer (not subject to Windows exploits). But I am familiar with Linux because I have been using it for about 20 years (since before Internet Explorer). And now that there is Linux Steam, there are plenty of games to play without running Windows (Nvidia graphics work best in Linux Steam at this time).
That would depend on if you were using the retail version of Windows 7 or an OEM version that came installed on the old computer. If it is an OEM version then the answer is NO because they are only licensed for the computer they came installed on and can not be installed on another computer. If it was the retail version then the answer would be YES. You could install Windows on the new computer but when you try to activate it you will likely get an activation error since Microsoft will detect that key is already in use on a different computer. You will have to contact Microsoft and let them know you have built a new computer and reinstalled Windows. They can verify you have a retail version of Windows and generate a new activation code that will allow you to activate Windows on the new computer.
You might want to try a new, and in my eyes, a better operating system. Linux mint. It is free if you d/l it to a dvd or you can buy the system off of ebay for about $6. You can also make your new system a dual boot - Go to youtube and check out linux mint 17. You are under the control of Windows when using any of their OS - Linux is ran by you - not another.
You can take an image (clone) of the old drive and write it to the new drive. (Acronis and other programs can do this.) You will need a hard drive caddy to do it as well.
It might just possibly work first time in the new computer but it is more likely to fail. A Windows Repair will sometimes work, but not always.
If you get it to work then you can sort partitions on the new drive.
No.
PIRATING a copy of W 7 or W8 to get a free W 10 is not allowed.
And Microsoft is watching anyone who thinks they can avoid paying for W 10, by cheating.
Windows is a one-computer license. The computer your Win 7is on is the computer it is activated to. If you install it on another computer, you won't be able to activate it with your license (product key) due to this one-computer license limitation. Without activation to make it genuine, you won't be able to install the free upgrade.
