So, I just bought a Sony Laptop Today, but i'm all confused about the system recovery stuff...
I haven't turned the laptop on yet
But i was told once you turn it on the system will tell you the first time you turn it on, you have to insert disc(s) a DVD disc so it can save on those discs incase your laptop ever crashes.
What is it? Will it really tell you to insert disc(s) so you can save it? Please Give Futher information, cause i don't know much about this.

yeah, just do it. and be sure to protect those diskz and knock on wood. nothing is worse than when your system crashes!
It's basically just something that backs up the files on the computer onto discs - so if your computer gets really messed up (not just crashing), you can use it as a nuclear option. You pop in the discs, start system recovery, and after a few hours your laptop is brought back to new condition, like it came from the factory.
I'm not sure how Sony's laptops do it, but if the laptop doesn't prompt you to back up discs, then there should be a utility in your Programs menu. The DVD discs should be DVD-R, DVD+R, or DVD-RW. It's pretty simple - the program will tell you what to do.
You also don't HAVE to do it - it's just there in case you want to have that option.
