The Acura ILX is an all-new car which is not yet available. 2013 models will go on sale this spring. There is no 2012 Acura ILX.
Although there is not much information available yet about the 2013 ILX as far as reviews go, it looks to be a good choice. Positive attributes that are known so far include good fuel economy (24 mpg city/35 mpg highway), a nice interior, and lots of technology. One thing that may drive some buyers away is that fact that the Acura ILX is essentially an upscale version of the Honda Civic. Safety information and reviews that cover driving impressions are not yet available. Here is a preview: http://www.edmunds.com/acura/ilx/2013/?sub=sedan
The 2012 Buick Verano is an excellent choice for a mid-size luxury sedan. On the plus side, it has a quiet refined driving experience, is an excellent value, and has superb safety scores (it is an 2012 IIHS Top Safety Pick). Edmunds.com's only complaint is that the engine is not quite as powerful as some competitors. Here is the Verano's full review: http://www.edmunds.com/buick/verano/2012
Ultimately, a testdrive will be necessary to determine which vehicle you like best. Good luck!

The ILX, but really I wouldn't pick either.
I would get a TSX over an ILX.
Never buy a car during it's first production year.
